Same rolls as banjo?
I don't play Dobro, but I'm thinking about it. What I'd like to know is, do you play the same rolls on a Dobro as on a banjo? Or will they be different?
Thanks,

Re: Same rolls as banjo?
I'm sure you use some of the same rolls, and the dobro has the same fingerings as banjo, on five of the strings anyway. But I don't think one can adapt "hard driveing bluegrass banjo" to dobro. For one thing, you don't play as many notes, and do more molidiec stuff and lots of really cool slides!
(Note, I don't actully know what I'm talking about when it comes to dobro, I'm just saying what I think I know.)

It uses a slide, so there would be no fingerings, right?

Yeah, I guess the would actully be sliderings or something.
But, you can always turn the bar back and forth when different chords need it.
